Crossing the line, or, STFU and GBTW
Thu Jun 05, 2008 at 08:30:14 AM PDT
FYI: Those those not familiar with the title's acronyms, it's "shut the fuck up" and "get back to work".
Hunter crossed the line.
I usually like Hunter's tirades laced with dark humor, but "A Slogan for John McCain" was over 1000 words of wasted frontpage space.
A hilarious look at health "care"

Laughter is the best medicine. If you've ever had a nightmarish experience with our health "care" system, this might be an amusing anecdote for you.
Steve Novick and how campaign ads are done
Thu Feb 28, 2008 at 05:07:33 PM PDT
Honestly, when most politicians try to be funny it makes us squirm with embarrassment. "Awk-ward!" we think, as McCain sings "Bomb Iran". . . not that Democrats are any better at humor (though they're slightly better at not looking like warmongering fools).
Introducing Steve Novick, Democratic candidate challenging Oregon Senator Gordon Smith, and how campaign ads should be done. After the jump.
Happy thoughts for happy holidays!
Fri Dec 21, 2007 at 05:02:02 PM PDT
The Democrats are capitulating on all kinds of issues for whatever reason: Some speculate cowardice, other avarice. In any case, we're disappointed and more than a little annoyed.
It's also the holidays (most cultures and religions have some occasion to celebrate at this time), and to be blunt, holidays are not marked by merriment -- rather, they're stressful times where simmering drama and tenuous relations surface as lines are drawn -- between friends & relatives, around malls choked with traffic, in clogged airports, and in letters and cards.
This diary is more intended as a thread to help change that pace. You're only human; join me past the jump.

Democratic War Profiteers: The Money Behind the Votes
Wed May 02, 2007 at 03:07:44 AM PDT
Question: Did Representatives who voted against H.R. 1591 (the Iraq War supplemental funding bill Bush vetoed) have a sinister reason for doing so? I did some digging to find out.
Battle Cry
Wed Aug 09, 2006 at 04:04:36 AM PDT
I e-mailed this to everyone I know. This message is not for Kossacks who are, by and large, politically active. It's a battle cry to those who use hopelessness as an excuse to do nothing.
We have a proven record, folks. NOW is the time to get your apathetic friends on the bandwagon.
